After reading the post, I got this book to read with my 4 year old son and a 6 year old I work with. First, it's a beautiful book, so thank you for the recommendation! My son loved it and it was especially helpful for the 6 year old, who has growing anxiety but doesn't like to talk about it. It led to an engaging talk about fear as something that all kids have and deal with differently. Much appreciated!
Here is a question from my son after reading the book: "what happens when kids arent afraid the dark but they are afraid of eating pasta?" (Yes, it breaks my heart he doesn't like pasta ๐ )
When I tried to answer him I realized standing up to fear of certain foods or picky eating can be quite different than other types of "brave practice". Would love to learn more if you both have any book recs for anxiety and eating.
